Non alcoholic citrus punch.

A punch with no booze? Yup! This one can be enjoyed by the entire family. But for those wild “fete” nights, be sure to add your favorite rum or whiskey (make sure it’s a cheap whisky though, so you’re not wasting it).

You’ll need…

* 3 cups apple juice or sweet cider
* 2 cups orange juice
* 1 cup pineapple juice
* 1 6-ounce frozen lemonade or limeade concentrate
* 2 quarts ginger ale
* 4 cups ice cubes
* Thinly sliced oranges, lemons, or limes, and mint leaves, for garnish

Then…

1. In a large bowl, combine apple, orange, and pineapple juices and frozen lemonade or limeade. Stir to combine thoroughly.

2. Slowly stir in ginger ale and ice cubes. Garnish with citrus slices and mint. Serve immediately.

If you really want to add an island flair to this tasty beverage, add a dash of Angostura bitters.

    We are caribbeans (although my wife does not consider herself one because she is Panamanian) and we do not know Rum Punch w/o liquor. We always put the bomb (130 proof and better) in it

  2. Deirdre Carasco-Smirh says:

    This sounds delicious. If my feet were not killing me, I would walk to the corner store to get the three ingredients I am missing. I once, about three New s ago, brought a rum punch from a recipe from Caribbean Pot- I beat out everyone, and I am talking about dune cooks and wine connoisseurs. Please publish it again. That was great!

  3. Note pineapple and its juice tend to aggravate varicose veins and hemorrhoids so think before including it.

  28. Brenda says:

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for this recipe. I am going to make this for our
    next family get-together. Whats nice is that if some wants to
    add alcohol they can add some to their own glass, like a splash
    of rum or some vodka…..

  29. Jessica says:

    This really is a splendid recipe. Children and adults love it. I was first introduced to a variation of this punch when I did work for a museum in Massachusetts. It was used in its non-alcoholic form at museum functions because it doesn't stain the way a red punch would thereby keeping the museum collection, rugs and flooring relatively safe from harm. The only variations I can offer would be to (1) add apricot or other light fruit nectar, (2) float orange, lemon or lime sherbert in the punch, and / or (3) make an ice ring with sliced oranges, lemons and / or limes and maraschino cherries for an additional pop of color to keep it chilled. The only challenge this punch presents is making enough so everyone can have seconds or thirds or fourths! Amazing that children who are skeptical about punch keep coming back for more. Very, very refreshing! Thank you for sharing the recipe so others can enjoy it!

  30. Juliet Charles says:

  34. la gringa loca says:

    Thanks for this recipe. Now I have a request for another one. I ear that in St. Martin they make some sort of "drink" from ambarella. It involves soaking it in rum. In the Virgin Islands we make guavaberry rum for Christmas and I am wondering if the drink they make in St. Martin is similar. I've "transplanted" to South Floriday and have a "June Plum" as it is often called here in my yard. Do you – or anyone else have a recipe?

  35. Tricia says:

    Will definately add a little som somet'n for my taste lol.

  36. Michelle says:

    I don't drink alcohol so this is just grrrreat stuff for me and i will definitely try it……..

  37. Tishel says:

    Instead of makin ice cubes wit water I use juice so it don't get water down wen the ice melts

  38. melanie says:

    I tried this recipe with a few slivers of ginger julienned. Also, used light versions of juices, diet ginger ale and a splash of triple sec orange liquer to get that kick…it was a great hit at my last "just for fun" gathering. Thanks Chris!

  39. Don't forget to make a passion fruit recipe too!

  40. Greg Wofford says:

    Sounds like a great recipe and will try it as soon as I gather the ingredients. I am probably just missing it but how do I get a printable version of recipe. I do not want multiple pages of comments etc just the recipe. Some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

    you all have no lives to sit here on the computer adn look for these fucking recepies!!! get a life go get laid and smoke some ganja:)

  52. bob says:

    your all queers

  53. You do not have to "spice this up" Just use hard alcoholic cider and real ginger ale (alcoholic) and you should end up with an 8 per cent or so drink that will keep you going on long summer evenings! Ideally, make your own cider and ginger ale – then you will escape all the chemicals which are what really gives you the morning after feeling.

  54. Definately a must try

  55. AJAI' says:

    This sounds so good I am gonna try it this Friday. Wow I love every single thing that is put into this punch.

  56. Joanne says:

    gotta try this

  57. judy ali says:

    this is a must try sounds good

  58. David Reynolds says:

    This was really good as it is, but is also tasty with a good black [not dark; black] rum. I used Cruzan.

  59. Allyson says:

    Hey Chris love your recipes some are new and some bring back great memories. I have introduced a whole lot of "foodies" and novice chefs onto your web site they love the details photos.

    I learned to make peanut punch with the same ingredientsbut the method involves boiling the milk,then adding the peanut butter,and using a swizzle stick and giving it a good swizzle,this is done on medium heat after the milk is boiling,cool and add crushed ice,I like this method cause it last longer in the fridge and I don't get the separation as the cold preparation,so I make two litres at a time.

  60. Abraham says:

    I blended about half of the ginger ale with about 3 inches of fresh ginger, then strained it and mix it all up…. it really spiffs it up…. I will try to ferment the mixture for one day, without the fruits except for the sweet apple cider pluss adding a bit of natural cane sugar. This hopefully will give it a punch… Thanks for the motivation to move into my kitchen lab.

  61. Anna K says:

    I think a little coconut flavoured rum will make the adults happy.

  62. yummy! can't wait to try it!

  63. diane hutchinson says:

    Interesting,will try it with the angostura bitters but i definitely will leave out the alcohol!

  64. I am glad that you highlighted the bitters. That is actually what I would pull from the cupboard first out of force of habit. I wonder what it would be like to use a non-traditional base in substitution of apple juice/cider. Maybe a pommecythere filter juice or even the new cane juices that are available on the market. You have all of the essential elements though.

    1. Love the ideas you just threw at me.. will definitely give one of those suggestions a try

  65. im definely gonna try this one

  66. Marlan says:

    this recipe sounds very interesting and refreshing but i think alcohol would definitely give it the kick it deserves. so i will try it but with alcohol.

    1. After you give the kids their share.. "spice" it up a bit.

  67. Ashworth says:

    I will try this recipe for Thanksgiving…making two batches…with and without!

  68. re: Stephanie (lunches). That there is the question for the ages. We’ve struggled to keep our girls happy with their lunches. They’ve come to hate anything with cold-cuts (sandwiches) and now it seems we’re heading that way with peanut butter and jams. The hurdle we face is keeping the excited with the stuff we pack and making it nutricious as well.

    re: Yanique. Do share your version with us when you have some time.

    happy cooking
