Bitter melon is linked to lowering the body’s blood sugar. This is because the bitter melon has properties that act like insulin, which helps bring glucose into the cells for energy. The consumption of bitter melon can help your cells utilize glucose and move it to your liver, muscles, and fat.

    Hey Chris,
So its been a while since I’ve had Carilie. I must say I never knew that it also goes by the name Bitter Melon. With that being said, I don’t like it much, but my grandmother, bless her soul, whatever that lady hand touches, just makes everything taste better. I’m yet to meet anyone who can rival her cooking.

I used to live in Hawai’i. That was the first time I ever came across bitter melon. I’ve tried it 3 times; from the taste of it…I guess 10th times the charm.

I know this fruit as Carilie (bitter melon) a fave of mine my mother in law always says some bitterness is good for the body. The leaves are steeped in hit water and used as cooking. I like the fruit with Sara roti and fried aloo. Hope I win will make good use of the vacuum sealer…

      Hi Chris!

That there is bitter melon aka Carilie.
Tried it the other day when my mother in law visited, I don’t like it. But if it’s got health benefits sometimes you have to suck it up and just eat lol.
