Mmmm….Love Dhalpuri! It does seem like a lot of work, but really it's not. I use to help my mom on Sundays. She would make them a little smaller however.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a Tawa in Montreal?
Blu-Try a West-Indian store or Indian store. If you cannot get a Tawa, you can also use a Lodge cast iron pizza pan. I purchased one from a camping store but I see it is available from Amazon -http://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Logic-Cast-Iron-14-Inch-Pizza/dp/B0000E2V3X . It is actually better to use than the real tawa.
Denize, I was wondering whether to use a griddle or the pizza pan before I read your comment what do you think? I did check out Amazon and saw both items but did know which one I should order. Please help. Thanks Judy

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this recipe. I've always wanted to make dhalpuri, but i've always been intimidated. But i'm willing to give this one a go!
The best Dhalpuri roti I ever came across was sold at Piarco Airport before they built the new buildings. This was sold along with some of the best tasting doubles and alou pies. I miss that.
This is the recipe I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to try it.
