Non alcoholic citrus punch.

A punch with no booze? Yup! This one can be enjoyed by the entire family. But for those wild “fete” nights, be sure to add your favorite rum or whiskey (make sure it’s a cheap whisky though, so you’re not wasting it).

You’ll need…

* 3 cups apple juice or sweet cider
* 2 cups orange juice
* 1 cup pineapple juice
* 1 6-ounce frozen lemonade or limeade concentrate
* 2 quarts ginger ale
* 4 cups ice cubes
* Thinly sliced oranges, lemons, or limes, and mint leaves, for garnish

Then…

1. In a large bowl, combine apple, orange, and pineapple juices and frozen lemonade or limeade. Stir to combine thoroughly.

2. Slowly stir in ginger ale and ice cubes. Garnish with citrus slices and mint. Serve immediately.

If you really want to add an island flair to this tasty beverage, add a dash of Angostura bitters.

    I want the entire punch bowl for myself! :) I’ve bookmarked this to make. Of course you know I am going to make 2 versions, one of which will obviously be loaded with alcohol! :)

  10. re: Stephanie (lunches). That there is the question for the ages. We’ve struggled to keep our girls happy with their lunches. They’ve come to hate anything with cold-cuts (sandwiches) and now it seems we’re heading that way with peanut butter and jams. The hurdle we face is keeping the excited with the stuff we pack and making it nutricious as well.

    re: Yanique. Do share your version with us when you have some time.

    happy cooking

    this recipe sounds very interesting and refreshing but i think alcohol would definitely give it the kick it deserves. so i will try it but with alcohol.

  13. Nezil says:

    im definely gonna try this one

  14. I am glad that you highlighted the bitters. That is actually what I would pull from the cupboard first out of force of habit. I wonder what it would be like to use a non-traditional base in substitution of apple juice/cider. Maybe a pommecythere filter juice or even the new cane juices that are available on the market. You have all of the essential elements though.

    Interesting,will try it with the angostura bitters but i definitely will leave out the alcohol!

    I think a little coconut flavoured rum will make the adults happy.

  18. Abraham says:

    I blended about half of the ginger ale with about 3 inches of fresh ginger, then strained it and mix it all up…. it really spiffs it up…. I will try to ferment the mixture for one day, without the fruits except for the sweet apple cider pluss adding a bit of natural cane sugar. This hopefully will give it a punch… Thanks for the motivation to move into my kitchen lab.

    Hey Chris love your recipes some are new and some bring back great memories. I have introduced a whole lot of "foodies" and novice chefs onto your web site they love the details photos.

    I learned to make peanut punch with the same ingredientsbut the method involves boiling the milk,then adding the peanut butter,and using a swizzle stick and giving it a good swizzle,this is done on medium heat after the milk is boiling,cool and add crushed ice,I like this method cause it last longer in the fridge and I don't get the separation as the cold preparation,so I make two litres at a time.

    This was really good as it is, but is also tasty with a good black [not dark; black] rum. I used Cruzan.

  24. babd says:

    Definately a must try

  25. Alan says:

    You do not have to "spice this up" Just use hard alcoholic cider and real ginger ale (alcoholic) and you should end up with an 8 per cent or so drink that will keep you going on long summer evenings! Ideally, make your own cider and ginger ale – then you will escape all the chemicals which are what really gives you the morning after feeling.
